Parents and other caregivers who spend time with students outside of school play an important role in helping them learn to read. These adults need information about what reading skills students are learning throughout the year, and effective strategies to help students practice reading skills at home.
We created Let’s Read San Mateo County to help bridge that gap.

Funded by Measure K and local philanthropic contributions, The Big Lift is a bold collective impact effort, led by the County of San Mateo, San Mateo County Libraries, and San Mateo County Office of Education. Since its inception, The Big Lift has been dedicated to fostering collaboration and unifying stakeholders who share a common commitment to the goal of advancing third-grade literacy in San Mateo County.
